A Win For Beckie In Bablake's Mock General Election

Senior School Co-curricular

Returning Officer Mrs Helen Sawyer (Mathematics and Symposium Coordinator) announced the results of Bablake's Mock General Election via our House Heads this morning to the eager voters.

Congratulations to Beckie Carter (Conservative) who gained 24 of the 44 seats- each tutor group formed a constituency- and therefore a governing majority. Pamilla Kang (Green) won 9 seats, Keisha Simms (Labour) 6 seats and Amy Kuner (Liberal Democrat) a sole seat. (4 constituencies did not return a vote.)

The whole campaign with hustings, canvassing and corridor campaigners has been a tremendous success and certainly whetted the Bablake appetite for the country's real election today. We thank our four candidates, their campaigners and Mrs Sawyer for their commitment to the event.

We now await whether Beckie will take her manifesto to Headmaster Mr John Watson and see if he will implement some of her policies on a local Bablake level!
