Standing Out Beyond Bablake

Today we host our annual 'Welcome to Bablake Sixth Form' evening for parents of our full AS Level cohort.

After listening to Headmaster Mr John Watson, Mrs Alison Tumber (Head of Sixth Form) and Mr Mark Woodward (Head of Careers), families will spend a short period of time with their son or daughter's Form Tutor.

The two years in our Sixth Form speed by, but there are tremendous opportunities ahead. By the end of the A Level programme, students will be fully prepared for university as well as employment. Full of confidence, keen to use their initiative and already proven high flyers, they will have been able to extend themselves academically, take part in sport, music and/ or drama, and take a great pleasure in many roles that will involve mentoring, teamwork, enterprise, responsibility and leadership.

We trust every Sixth Former will enjoy the journey over the next couple of years. If there is a society that does not exist, it will often be instigated; our Feminist, Flight Simulator, Politics and Sikh and Hindu societies have all been added and run by students over the last few years.

There is plenty of hard work ahead but the next two years are always treasured by our students. Friendships and a network for life will also be established.
