Sharing The 'Coventry Litany of Reconciliation' Worldwide

Senior School Community

As an International Cross of Nails school itself, Bablake was very proud to be invited to record the 'Coventry Litany of Reconciliation' for broadcast across the world to other ICON schools and communities.

Chaplain Reverend Sacha Slavic, who arranged filming in the final moments of last term, explained more about the Litany, saying: "The 'Coventry Litany of Reconciliation', which was written in 1958, is prayed at noon every Friday in the ruins of Coventry Cathedral, worldwide and also at Bablake's annual Carol Service. It is a universal and timeless confession of humanity’s failings, but it calls us to approach these sins and weaknesses in the forgiveness of God’s love. It encourages us to be kind and forgive one another every day."

Two versions of the Litany of Reconciliation were filmed by Gabrielle Media Services. Both videos are now posted on our official Facebook page: the first is a reading by two of our pupils in the ruins of the 'old' Coventry Cathedral, while the second has the Litany reading interwoven with our Junior Choir's poignant rendition of the 'Coventry Carol' inside the iconic 'new' building.
