Festival Prize Haul For Bablake Music Scholar Anna

Cellist Anna White stood out at last weekend's Leamington Spa Competitive Festival.

Anna had a most successful time at the festival, taking home four second place medals and winning one trophy, much to the delight of Director of Music Mr Tim Crompton.

Georgia Ementon and Howard Weyman were among our Senior pupils who also enjoyed the festival, which aims to help promote and encourage the study and practice of the arts of Music, Dance, and Speech and Drama.

It is once again a busy time for our Music department. After a very successful Junior Concert earlier this week, we now look forward to a Yamaha flute workshop with Lisa Nelsen this afternoon. Then, next week we will see our musicians at our annual Senior Citizens' Summer Tea Party and look forward to the Summer Concert on Thursday evening.

There will be reports next week on the excellent progress of our musicians who have been working towards Bronze and Gold Arts Award status.
