Exceptional Success For Enya

Senior School Music

What a successful time it has been for Fourth Year pupil Enya Bowe recently!

Firstly, she heard she has a place to study at the Junior department of Birmingham Conservatoire from this September. She will have her flute lessons there, as well as playing in ensembles and taking classes in theory, aural and musicianship, so she will enjoy very full Saturdays. Receiving a place at the Conservatoire is an excellent achievement for any young player and considering how much time Enya also spends dancing, this really reflects the level of hard work she devotes to her arts work.

On top of this excellent news, Enya has had her Gold Arts Award moderated and passed with flying colours. The moderator was enormously impressed at the level of detail in her portfolio and thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the evidence from the wonderful 'Back to the Fifties' show the whole Bablake community enjoyed so much in February.

Mrs Cathy Scott-Burt, Head of Enrichment and Outreach Coordinator said: "I have really enjoyed supporting Enya's Gold Arts Award. It has been a wonderful project in so many ways, encompassing music, dance, a memorable show and a fascinating project on why there are so few female orchestral conductors. To hear in the same week that she has a Conservatoire place is just the icing on the cake!"

Well done, Enya!
