Bablake Winners - (6) 'Sherlock' Cast Prepares For The Edinburgh Fringe

Senior School Drama

Our final Bablake winners, in this week's series, are in the same position as all those chosen for the Olympics with the potential to achieve further success.

The cast of 'Sherlock' has been rehearsing throughout the summer break, under the careful guidance of former pupil Sam Griffiths, who has extended his A2 Theatre Studies practical piece for the Edinburgh Fringe audiences.

Sam and half a dozen excellent actors from our Lower Sixth travel to Edinburgh tomorrow to perform 'Sherlock' at Nicolson Square daily from 11.30am. These actors may already count themselves as winners, since they are not only presenting a production at one of the world's prime cultural festivals but they are also representing Bablake in its 30th consecutive year at the Fringe - a feat that we are sure is unique for a school.

This year's cast as well as the numerous former pupils who have been cast members in the past are all winners, as are all the staff who have inspired Bablake's drama over the past three decades.

We will be reporting during next week from Edinburgh and look forward to documenting what will be an outstanding moment for the school and a very special week for this year's cast.
