Celebrating Diwali

Bablake's Sikh and Hindu society preempted this year's Diwali with a lunchtime celebration on the final day before Half Term.

Members of the society from our Sixth Form worked with younger pupils and ICT teacher Mr Lakbir Atwal on organising what has become established as an annual school celebration of Diwali. Current pupils and teachers, as well as a few former staff, enjoyed samosas, spring rolls and cake, while watching an excellent display of traditional dance organised and led by Krina Mistry. We were particularly grateful to Ria Patel and Old Wheatleyan Dr Nikita Bains for sharing their excellent henna designs.
