There's 'Snow' Knowing

Senior School Junior School

Will it or won't it... snow? That seemed to be the question around school today as much of the national media went into a snow frenzy.

We are not expecting a heavy snowfall, but it is always worth reiterating the 'Bablake Snow procedure', as documented in the Headmaster's End of Term letter:

"In the event of heavy snow, pupils should never assume that school is closed. If the exceptional decision is taken to close, a message will be posted on the website and our social media. Local radio stations (CWR and Free Radio Coventry and Warwickshire – previously Mercia) will be informed. A text message will also be sent to parents who receive mailings via the weekly e-mail.

We shall aim to do this by 6.30am, although it is sometimes very difficult to make contact with radio stations; the website will be the most reliable means of communication, and updates will be posted regularly.

We shall remain in touch with the school bus companies, although they will ultimately make their own decisions; please contact them directly, if in doubt.

If snow falls during the school day, you are asked not to make direct arrangements with your child about leaving school early and before permission is granted. We realise that some parents have very difficult journeys and that it may be necessary to collect early, but please contact the School Office in the first instance.

Any decision to close during the day will also be posted on the website and communicated via text message. We always do our utmost to remain open, whilst ensuring that the school site remains safe, as we know that child-care arrangements can otherwise be problematic for parents."
