Options Guidance Week

Senior School Careers

Our Fifth Year pupils will be receiving further guidance this week from Heads of Departments and our Careers staff.

Head of Fifth year Mrs Sue Smith and Head of Careers Mr Mark Woodward have established a programme of lunchtime workshops with departments that offer A level subjects in Bablake's Sixth Form for our Y11 pupils to attend.

On top of advice given at last term's 'Entry to Sixth Form' evening and in the individual reviews with our Careers department, we trust our pupils will be well informed about the options available beyond GCSE and A level in their chosen paths. Later this term, there will be a few industry specific sessions based on suggestions provided by our students, while last week those who took part in our CV Challenge collected feedback from the Careers department.

We also look forward on Thursday to the Fifth year consultation evening where subject tutors and the Careers department will be available to offer advice.

Last week our vertical House session allowed pupils in the year above to offer advice to both our 5th year and 3rd year pupils who are making choices for A level and GCSE respectively. Tomorrow we also host our GCSE information evening at 7pm for parents of 3rd year pupils.
