We are excited to announce that Mr Andrew Wright (Deputy Head Academic) has been appointed as Acting Head for Bablake, with effect from the start of the Summer term 2019.
After a rigorous and extensive interview process which unsurprisingly attracted a strong field, Governors were not convinced that they had yet found the right person to perpetuate Bablake’s success and to lead its development over the next few years. They have therefore decided to appoint Mr Wright as Acting Head before embarking on a fresh recruitment process in due course.
Mr Wright is an experienced and highly respected leader and teacher of mathematics, with both academic and pastoral experience from the independent and maintained grammar school sectors. He is already responsible for important strategic initiatives at Bablake, and has the absolute confidence of Governors and staff to lead and develop the School, with the support of an experienced senior leadership team.
As Mr Wright is already at Bablake, he will be able to work alongside Mr Watson next term, assuming the reins at the end of April, when Mr Watson will depart for Leicester Grammar School. Governors and staff at Bablake are fully committed to maintaining the School’s very high standards and to ensuring the ongoing happiness, success and development of the School community.
