Harvest Festival And Foodbank Heroes

6th Form tutor groups as well as 4th and 5th year pupils have been collecting food for a Foodbank collection early next week.

The most successful groups all collected money from each member of the form and then went and bought items such as rice, pasta and cereal from a local supermarket.

A few of our pupils put their star baking skills to very good use for the Harvest Festival baskets earlier this week. They approached Mrs Carol Davey (Head of Food and Textiles) and asked whether they could use their lunchtime to good effect by baking cupcakes which were then iced, decorated and boxed for delivery to local senior citzens.

Mrs Davey commented: 'Once again I was really impressed with the generosity of our pupils. Giving up their own free time proves how much they think of other people.'
