Macmillan Biggest Coffee Morning Surpasses 2013 Total

Charity

Just as last year, Bablake's Macmillan team rallied the school all last week and we are proud to announce that, while the charity pots raised over £192.61 at the Friday morning collection, a phenomenal £574 was collected by our 6th Form at its Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

Mollie Sargent, who has been chosen as group leader, was very pleased with the team's effort and said: 'We had a target of £450 that we wanted to reach, so £574 is fantastic news. The whole team worked really hard to promote the event and on the day. I am really proud of them all.'

The Library proved a super venue for the event and star baker of the day turned out to be U6th pupil James Bayliss whose Victoria sponge and brownies were a surprise hit!

This year's Macmillan team therefore surpassed the superb fundraising total from 2013 by over £70 and it is now up to the staff to see whether on Monday, the pupils' total can be matched!

We also thank Bablake Junior School for supporting the event.
