Whole School Supports Unicef Charity

Senior School Charity

Last year, Bablake pupils created a rainbow to highlight our partnership with Harrismith Secondary school in South Africa; this year, they showed unison with Headmaster Mr John Watson's fundraising for Unicef, spelling this charity's name on the field as well as our school name.

With Mrs Helen Skilton (Head of History) and Mr Kris Tyas (Head of Mathematics) marshalling the pupils from the top of the tower via telephone and radio mike contact with Head of Third Years Miss Kelly Ormsby and Head of Design Technology Mr Chris West, the operation was smoothly completed. Mr Paul Cleaver (Head of Art) and Mr Mark Woodward (Head of Careers) were on hand to capture the event.

Almost £600 was raised by pupils and staff on the day, which, when added to the sum already raised via our Headmaster's 'Chariots of Fire' run earlier this month, means Bablake will be sending well over £1000 to Unicef to assist inoculation of vulnerable children against tetanus in particular.

With thanks to our ground staff for marking out the letters earlier this week.
