2015-16 Sport Captains - (1) Rugby

The pinnacle for many of our sportsmen and sportswomen is to be recognised as a sports scholar or lead the 1st team in their final year at Bablake. We will feature the 2015-16 officials for our major winter sports this and next weekend.

Today, we congratulate Liam Meechan, captain of this year's Rugby 1st XV, about whom Mr Rob Burdett (Head of Boys' PE) comments: "Liam has led the 1st XV from the front with some outstanding performances as Number 8. The season has seen some excellent performances and he has been a key member of a hard-working and enthusiastic group that is striving to develop."

We wish the boys all the best for the rest of their fixtures this season, including a summer tour of South Africa, a full programme of 7s rugby and our annual fixture v KHVIII at Coventry RFC on Monday 7th March (7pm kick off), where the team will, of course, also be hoping to retain the Mike Hibbert Memorial Shield.
