Social Media Engagement Rated Best In UK Independent Sector

Senior School Social Media

Bablake learnt earlier this term that its social media engagement had been rated as best in the UK independent sector at the inaugural The Gold Stars awards, an initiative instigated to recognise the excellent work of marketing departments across the country.

As a very early adopter of social media, Bablake's delivery has ensured school life has been readily accessible. With many current pupils, staff, parents, alumni and prospective parents as advocates, our social score in 2013 and 2014 was recognised as top in the UK by Interactive Schools and has been beaten only by Sedbergh School during the last couple of years.

Asked about the strategy behind the delivery, Mr Mark Woodward (Head of Careers) said: "Our very positive online digital portfolio thrives on engaging and regular content, which most usually comes directly and naturally from school life. Our posts and content genuinely reflect what it is to be part of Bablake's community, but we have not been afraid of covering social issues or sharing posts from other users.

Another of our main USPs for social media is regular content throughout the year. With a web story a day and a keen eye on community, national and international events, we have plenty to talk about and there is enough variety to keep our audience engaged.

Positive, appropriate social media engagement is important to Bablake. Bar the time spent by staff on posts, social media is free, accessible and most importantly modern. Through effective social media, we have even been able to engage with our pupils on important issues such as e-safety and have been able to connect them with alumni or industry specialists who have supported them with their skill development."

If you are not already aware of our key social media delivery, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are our strongest platforms.
