Pupils Come First For Grand Masters Hockey World Cup Squad Member

The 8th Grand Masters Hockey World Cup has been taking place in Australia during the last couple of weeks and, had it not been a peak time for our examination classes, one of our hockey coaches, Mr Lakbir Atwal (ICT), would have been playing.

We warmly congratulate Mr Atwal on being selected as one of the Over 60s team's 'under age' players for the tournament in Newcastle, New South Wales, an achievement that is most definitely the pinnacle of his prestigious hockey career to date.

Naturally with the World Cup occurring at this stage of the academic year, with both his GCSE and A Level pupils in mind, Mr Atwal was unable to accept the invitation, but we trust another opportunity presents itself for our 2nd XI hockey coach to play at a similar representative level in the near future.
