Bablake Community Supports Coventry Comfort Carers

Senior School Charity

We thank pupils, parents and staff for the excellent response to the recent collection for Coventry Comfort Carers.

Upper sixth former Hannah Mordey, who made initial contact with the volunteer group and coordinated the school's collection with the help of Bablake's Feminist Society, was part of the group of pupils who were very pleased to be able to hand over more than 2,200 sanitary products and 120 bras for immediate distribution.

John from Coventry Comfort Carers was very pleased with the donation and sent the following message to school:

"Thank you very much for the brilliant donation. Some of the sanitary products have already been sent today to Coventry Foyer who look after homeless 16- 25 year olds. They will also be distributed by Kairos WWT, a group that works with women at risk of or subject to sexual exploitation. We will also offer the donations to all female service users we support who are sleeping on the streets. Please thank Hannah and her friends for arranging the collection. They are all a credit to their families and Bablake."

We are delighted the donations have been put to such immediate use and look forward to supporting Coventry Comfort Carers once again in the very near future. Over £150 was also raised for Coventry Haven.
