Art Pupils' Day In London

Senior School Art

A group of 3rd and 4th year Art pupils enjoyed a recent visit to London. Head of Art Mr Paul Cleaver reports further:

"The group travelled by coach to Greenwich to see the Old Royal Naval College and paintings by James Thornhill, who also decorated St Paul's Cathedral.

Pupils were then able to explore the shops and craft stalls in Greenwich market before we all travelled up river by Thames Clipper to central London, passing the City of London, Tower of London, Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast along the way. This river journey presented some outstanding views which offered a different perspective on the city and the way it has developed over time.

The final part of the visit involved a short walk to the National Portrait Gallery to see its general collection as well as the annual BP Portrait Award show."
