Nelson House Wins BJS Sports Day!

On the last Friday of term Nelson, Eliot and Churchill houses competed against each other during the Bablake Junior School Sports Day 2016.

The morning featured field events with standing long jump, javelin and shot put. The children did brilliantly with some fantastic performances across all houses. After lunch, parents and family members arrived to watch the afternoon track events. Pupils competed across an array of different running races from the 30m 'dash' to the 600m race. There were some incredibly close relay races, especially in the 'circle' relay where in one race we almost had a photo finish with all three houses competing for first place on the line! 

The effort, sportsmanship and determination shown by pupils throughout the day was inspiring; we truly have some excellent athletes in our midst.

After the last race, Mr Price gathered everyone together to announce the winners - just as the heavens opened! He held the suspense of pupils and parents alike before announcing that Nelson house was this year's winner!

Well done to Nelson and all pupils involved in the day. A big thank you to everyone who came to support the children and to 'Mr B', Mrs Reed and all the Junior School staff who helped run the event.
