Lessons From Auschwitz

Today, around 300 survivors from Auschwitz have returned to the site in southern Poland to mark 70 years since its liberation in 1945.
As the national media focus turns to lessons from the past, it is worth reminding our community that U6th pupil Moni Dhariwal wrote a splendid reflective piece on her visit to Auschwitz, in the recent issue of The Wheatleyan (q.v. p70-1).
Moni, together with fellow U6th pupil Paul Lilley, visited as an ambassador from Bablake last Easter, while annually our 3rd year pupils all visit Beth Shalom- the National Holocaust Centre and Museum- as part of their Religious Studies course.
