Bablake Superheroes In Williams Syndrome Fundraiser

Senior School Charity

Miss Jodie Kukucska's tutor group, 3JEK, did itself proud last week in an inventive fundraiser for the Williams Syndrome Foundation.

After school last Friday, the boys and girl arranged a 'Heroes and Villains' netball and football competition. Honours were even, after the girls fought back from 3-1 down in the netball match to win 5-4, leaving the boys to win the indoor football 3-0.

Miss Kukucska commented: "I want to say how proud I am that the form came together to put on such a big event; they organised it all themselves with support from their form prefects 6th formers Beth Carter, Sam Cranage and Erin Ryan."

Head of Year Miss Kelly Ormsby added: "I was really pleased so many other pupils from the year stayed behind after school to watch the games and support the fundraising by buying from the vast range of refreshments 3JEK arranged. That really summed up the support of our pupils for each other."

This initiative came about as part of a new charity idea introduced this term; tutor groups choose a charity for the year and then have a chance to raise funds for this during 'Free Fridays' or do extra fundraising like 3JEK
