Fairfax Wins The 2014 Senior House Quiz Competition

House Events

Yesterday lunchtime in the Bablake Community Room, the vintage buzzer system, 'human' scoreboard, music from The Proclaimers, competitive pupils, eager House Heads and the presence of Assistant Headteacher Mr Jim Burns could only signal one event... the Bablake Senior House Quiz.

The 2014 competition had reached the third and final round; this week, the encouraging crowd saw Wheatley defeat Crow and Fairfax beat Bayley in two evenly matched and close contests.

The third round confirmed Fairfax as champions, as this house had completed an impressive clean sweep of wins over its three rivals.

Footnote!

Despite his team winning the competition, Head of Fairfax Mr Inderpal Kalsi was rumoured to be heard questioning the status of school Chess captain George Esworthy, after seeing him beaten to the buzzer on a question related to the number of squares on a chess board!
