Bayley Wins Round Two Of Our House Public Speaking

House Events

It was the turn of our Shells and 2nd Years yesterday to present their thoughts on the current political policies regarding Education and Youth matters in the 2015 House Public Speaking competition, and Bayley was adjudged to have won the debate.

Judges Mr Alistair Hopkins (Deputy Head- Pastoral), Mrs Sylvia O'Sullivan (Alumni Relations Officer) and Mrs Alison Tumber (Head of 6th Form) heard convincing six minute presentations from all four Houses and watched the 'parties' field some excellent questions from the floor.

Well done to Bhavan Amar, Abigale Barnes and Namuun Batkhishig from Bayley (Green Party) on winning this round. Fairfax (Conservatives) came second, Crow (Liberal Democrats) a close third and Wheatley (Labour) fourth. Their presentation included a very impressive and comprehensive survey conducted with our Shell, 2nd and 3rd year pupils.

The final round is on Thursday, when it will be the turn of our 6th Form to debate Immigration policies, and the quest to be overall winner of the competition is wide open.
