Every single A level passed at Bablake School

Bablake School is celebrating a perfect 100% pass rate in this year’s A level results, announced today, along with better overall grades than in 2019, the last year when exams were taken prior to Covid.

Headmaster Andrew Wright paid tribute to the students, saying: “They have had a challenging time, as they negotiated online learning and lockdowns during their crucial GCSE years; however, the attributes that they have developed at school during this time gives them the skills to thrive whatever life throws at them in future.”

The Coventry school will be waving four students off to Oxford or Cambridge.  The school has also taken a leading role in encouraging students towards higher-level apprenticeships, and students have been accepted on courses with JLR, Amazon, BAE Systems and Eversheds Sutherland. 

Across the school, 40% of all grades were at A* or A, and 18 students gained all A* or A grades, which have resulted in university offers for highly competitive subjects such as medicine or law.

“These excellent results reflect students’ hard work and rigorous preparation alongside the high quality teaching and learning at Bablake,” said Wright.

Bablake School is part of the Coventry School Foundation, along with King Henry VIII School.  Chris Staley, Principal said “I am extremely happy with this set of results and delighted to see success in pupils following different paths, whether they are destined for Oxbridge or our leading industries. This is testament to our staff and wonderfully supportive parent body.”

2021 A level Results

• Grades were awarded based upon teacher judgements
• 90% of all grades are A*, A or B
• 71% of all grades are A* or A
• 91 students gained results

2020 A level Results

• Grades were awarded based upon teacher judgements
• 89% of all grades are A*, A or B
• 62% of all grades are A* or A
• 103 students gained results

2019 A level Results

• Grades were award based upon performance in examinations
• 71% of all grades are A*, A or B
• 38% of all grades are A* or A
• 89 students took examinations
