Magnificent Seven fulfilled by the EPQ

Archive Archive

After many hours of detailed research, individually monitored mentoring and final agonies over a 15 minute presentation, seven of our U6th students are enjoying the satisfaction and fulfilment from completing the EPQ.

This group of students is the first to tackle this extension exercise and enjoyed the chance to explore particular aspects of their most loved A Level subject not usually tackled in A2 specifications.

Extension work is very much in vogue for our A2 pupils in subjects of their choice. Some pupils receive official accreditation via working towards a Gold CREST award in fields such as Medicine and Engineering, while our Economists have tackled the Bank of England and The Times' Target 2 Point Zero challenge.

The topics presented by our EPQ pupils, this year, were as follows:

  • Euclidean and non-Euclidean Geometry - Shindy Lall
  • Salman Rushdie – Master of Magic Realism? – Nadine Naguib
  • Decolonisation and Dictatorship in Botswana and Uganda – Jonathan Smith
