Inspiration And Aspiration For Design Technology Pupils

The U6th Design Technology A Level group took a well deserved break from its classroom based theory lessons to look at production methods at the Morgan Car Company in Malvern, Worcestershire this week.

The two hour tour of the factory took our pupils through a variety of  techniques ranging from modern technologies right through to hand made sections of the cars.

Mr Chris West, Head of Design Technology, reports that opinions were divided at the end as to which model of car was favoured, with some opting to spend their future hard earned cash on a classic roadster while for others the lime green and pink leather upholstered three wheeler was clearly the preferred choice.

After Easter the L6th Design Technology group will have an opportunity to experience the same visit, before everyone turns attention and concentration back to examination friendly theory lessons in school.

One suspects though that a few pupils will still be dreaming of their prize automobile of choice. Who knows but with perspiration and inspiration over the next few years, these aspirations may well materialise!
