A Level Drama And Theatre Studies Moderation Day

Archive Archive

For our AS and A2 Drama and Theatre Studies pupils, today is the culmination of many hours of practice and preparation as they are asked to perform their practical pieces.

Ms Caroline Farmer, Director of Drama, commented: 'We are looking forward to a day of sharing our work with the visiting A Level moderator. Yet again the pupils are presenting a wide range of pieces: the L6th groups have worked on Terence Rattigan's 'Ross', a biographical play about Lawrence of Arabia (T E Lawrence) and cowardice, and Noel Coward's improbable farce 'Blithe Spirit', which was presented at Bablake in December 2012 as our major production; the U6th has devised an exciting adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's psychological thriller 'Rebecca'.'

We are also delighted to announce that the play Bablake Theatre will be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe will be 'Rebecca', drawing its cast from our A Level pupils. Rehearsals have begun and we will post more information next term about the show. This will be the 28th consecutive year that Bablake has performed at the Fringe, a unique achievement for a school.
