New Wheatleyan Editors Appointed

Senior School Media

The editorial team for the 2016-17 edition of 'The Wheatleyan' has been finalised during the weeks since Half Term, while the 2015-16 issue has been proofed and prepared for printing.

We are pleased to announce that Harriet Rowlands and Baht-Ammi Francis, both enthusiastic Fairfax students and impressive team players, have been appointed as Editor and Deputy Editor respectively for the next edition of our annual magazine.

Editor Harriet brings her talent as a promising photographer to the magazine, as well as the balance of a student enjoying an exciting mix of subjects that cross the Arts and Sciences. Taking A levels in Art, Chemistry, English Literature and Religious Studies, her current aspirations include studying a degree in English and Philosophy.

Deputy Editor Baht-Ammi, meanwhile, is proving an excellent member of Bablake's Debating and Public Speaking team. An excellent linguist at A level, with an interest in current affairs and clear leadership skills, her current plans are to study Law at degree level.

Staff Editor Mr Mark Woodward (also Head of Careers) commented: "The task ahead of this year's team will not be easy, especially as the 2015-16 edition, expertly coordinated by current Upper Sixth students Jasmine Shankster-East (Editor) and Lauren Putnam (Deputy Editor), is very impressive. However, I am confident Harriet, Baht-Ammi and their eager team of over a dozen student reporters will accept the challenge of producing an impeccable 2016-17 issue."

Issue 202 of 'The Wheatleyan' will be distributed in registration on Friday to current pupils. Last year's Upper Sixth students will receive a copy at their graduation evening on Thursday 5th January, while all the former staff and pupils on our distribution list, will receive their copies early next week.
