Meet The New Staff - Miss Alexandria Hingley (Marketing Manager)

We mark the return of our popular 'Meet the New Staff' feature by introducing Miss Alexandria Hingley, new Marketing Manager for Bablake Senior and Junior/ Pre Prep schools.

Miss Hingley joins us from Warwickshire College and has two public faces that pupils, staff and parents will have seen. Appointed as Marketing Manager across the three Bablake schools, she also teaches some netball at Bablake Junior School. We began our interview with the short answer questions:

  • 1. Strictly or X Factor? I don’t watch either I’m afraid…
  • 2. TOWIE or Made in Chelsea? Same again…! 
  • 3. Facebook or  Twitter? Facebook.
  • 4. Snapchat or Instagram? Instagram. 
  • 5. Tea or Coffee? Peppermint tea! 
  • 6. Sweet or Savoury? Savoury.
  • 7. UK or Abroad? UK.
  • 8. Marmite! Love it or hate it? Love the smell…, hate the taste!
  • 9. Hockey or  Netball? Netball!!!
  • 10. Rugby or Football? Rugby.
  • 11. TV: On Demand or Live? 'On Demand', unless it’s sport!
  • 12. Book or Film? Book.
  • 13. Research: Library or Google? Google.
  • 14. Home-Cooking or Takeaway? Home-cooking.
  • 15. Going Out or Staying In? Going out, unless it’s been a busy week then definitely staying in!
  • 16. Seeing the Sights or Sitting by the Pool? Seeing the sights…, then sitting by the pool!
  • 17. Play it Safe or Daredevil? Play it safe!
  • 18. Old School or Nu Skool? Old School.
  • 19. Vintage or Contemporary? Vintage.
  • 20. Who did you think will win the Rugby World Cup? I would love a repeat of 2003. I’m going to say England as I would never be able to say anyone else – C’mon boys!! 

We then moved onto the traditional questions about academic background and aspirations.

 

Which A Levels did you study? 
'History, Economics and Geography with English Literature at AS.'

Which university did you go to and which course  did you study? 
'The University of Nottingham to study a Joint Honours BA in History and Politics.'

What is your biggest pet peeve? 
'Cheating, especially in sport!' 

What is your favourite song? 
'You and I by Crystal Fighters.'

What is your biggest fear?
'Rats!'

Which is the best place you have travelled to or would like to?
'Tuscany in Italy.'

If you were able to have a dream dinner party, whom would you invite?!
'All of my closest friends, especially those who live far away.'

Have you ever had a nickname?
'Yes – Hingers!'

Was your child ambition to be working in education?  If not, what did you hope to be?
'When I was little, I wanted to be a weatherman…yes, a weatherman and my Mum used to call me Bert Foord, one of the BBC's best known Meteorological Office's weather presenters in the 60s!'
